The Falklands war (Spanish: Guerra de las Malvinas) lasted 74 days from 2 April 1982-14 june 1982. Robert King was in Argentina for the whole of 1981 and the subsequent perion leading up the Argentine invasion. Nominally his role was to plant news stories wherever he could to convice the Argentine goverment that the British would mobilise a task force to protect the Falklands. That was in fact was only a cover for his real task to assess the strength of the Argininian armed forces.
