Palma De Mallorca used to be the commercial hub of a separate kingdom, after the kings of Aragon had ejected the Moors. The actual capital was at Perpignan, on the mainland, where there is a wonderful palace. The Kingdom was relatively short lived and passes into Aragon’s sphere of control.
