Should religion be a sub topic of pseudo-history?

I have decided that it is really a separate topic.

Many sincerely held religious beliefs are an attempt to understand the mysteries of the Universe, to help in attempts to live good lives and to deal with the imperfections of the material world.

Nevertheless much of the history used to validate religious beliefs, has neither credibility or acceptance by historians.
